As a political consultant for the American Association of Political Consultants, Martin capitalized on usage of social media platforms and strong digital campaigns. He led door to door campaigns reaching almost 600,000 voters while creating comprehensive political, legislative, and regulatory goals, strategies, and plans. He offered strategic recommendations for updates to institutional programs and policies, factoring in current political climate and trends while supporting efforts of registered lobbyists and special interest groups by aiding legislative agenda. Martin also organized and planned meetings with high-level political appointees and elected officials and isolated research topics of interest and devised well-coordinated studies employing big data, social media, politics, and public policy techniques.
As a political candidate for the Michigan Democratic Party, Martin won the state senate nomination with 70% of the vote, securing 9,562 votes to the opposing candidate's 3,999 votes. He organized and oversaw his state senate campaign while delegating tasks to full-time campaign staff. Martin identified, researched, and tracked legislative issues relevant to current public issues, developed and maintained strong working relationships with industry lobbyists, elected officials, regulators, and government staff to advocate effectively for legislative and regulatory policy goals.
As a congressional lobbyist for the United Nations Children's Fund, Martin prepared for public relations presentations and plans by gathering information on business objectives, vision, brand strategy, competition, and industry trends. He responded to requests for information from media or designated appropriate spokesperson or information source. Martin studied objectives, promotional policies, or needs of organizations to develop public relations strategies influencing public opinion or promoting ideas. He drafted press releases detailing relevant newsworthy information and supporting brand image and worked with news media to spread positions.
As a congressional intern for the United States House of Representatives, Martin corresponded with constituents in the district, drafted policy, conducted legal and legislative research, and attended congressional committee hearings. He professionally represented the US Congressional office to constituents by guiding tours of the US Capitol building, greeting and welcoming office visitors, and organizing/distributing mail (answering 2,000 constituent phone calls). Martin also interacted with constituents by phone, email, or in-person to provide information and completed research, compiled data, updated spreadsheets, and produced timely reports.
As a human rights officer for the United Nations Foundation, Martin represented the UN Association of the USA at the 57th session of the UN Commission for Social Development at the UN General Assembly. He chartered and served as president of the first United Nations organization in the state of Mississippi (UNA-USA at Ole Miss). His leadership duties included a grassroots plan that led to a 500% increase in U.N advocates and supporters

"Our Global Future & The Greeks"

This work is divided into two main sections. First, it analyzes the possible outcomes of the near future. The second section examines what the West can learn from the Ancient Greeks, and Thucydides, in particular, about the future.

The first section of this book explores possible scenarios for the global future. Our story of the future begins and ends with a paradox: The same global trends suggesting a dark and difficult near future, despite the progress achieved in recent decades, also bear within them opportunities for choices that yield more hopeful, secure, and prosperous futures. In the pages to come, we use multiple time horizons to analyze the future from different perspectives, the results of shifts, and discontinuities in our current path. This is followed by a reflection of how our actions and decisions can impact our future for the better...or for, the worse. It is nearly a universal consensus among scholars and politicians that we are headed to the next Dark Age. A Dark Age which would likely end in an eternal Dark Age for humanity. On the other hand, we still have time to correct the errors we are making and bring a true global "Golden Age" that would shine far brighter than Periclean Athens or Elizabethan England.

The second section of the book examines the value gained by understanding Ancient Greece, Athens, and Thucydides, writer of the treatise on the war between Athens and Sparta. His works are still considered a literary masterpiece to this day. How Thucydides and the Greeks viewed events concerning history and the future is profound. Thucydides wrote his book because he believed that men would profit from a knowledge of what brought about that epic struggle in the same way that one would observe a scientific method. This analysis makes relatively heavy use of the ideas in Thucydides' great History of the Peloponnesian War. An effort is expended here to explain why a work written in Greece, in the late-5th century B.C., has high value for us today as a vital aid to understanding our own times and the risks we take if we do not learn from the mistakes of the past.

"The City Upon a Hill"

This book contains quotations and selected speeches from America's most outstanding leaders. These quotes have changed my perception of what is important as an American and a member of humanity. The book reads more like poetry or philosophy than what we today have known as political speeches. They exhibited the leadership, hope, vision, and values that are absent in contemporary politics. With the political, racial, and social polarization of the twenty-first century, we are in desperate need of a leader who can heal our country's wounds and lead us in the right direction.

It is increasingly discouraging to see the division and strife between Americans because of a political party and not their character's content. After all, what has defined this country since its founding has been the idea of overcoming differences through compromise. Indeed, a nation this vast and with such a diverse population has no hope for a future if the citizens cannot transcend their differences and genuinely seek common ground and understanding. I believe in what America stands for and in the good we can do for the future of humanity around the globe. We must realize that our decisions and actions as a nation and who we choose to represent that nation will determine the world's future. President Kennedy was speaking to the young people of America, but beyond them to young people everywhere, when he said: "The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it; and the glow from that fire can truly light the world."

A good selection of quotes from past presidents and other government officials of how politicians SHOULD concern themselves with all of the citizens of the United States and how they SHOULD operate the government on behalf of and for the support of the LIBERTY of all citizens. Donald J. Trump appears to be the only President to actually concentrate on making these hopes and ideals available for all citizens, where so many others have failed.

Growing up and living in France, I never got the chance to really lean about America's greatest leaders nor what were their biggest/most famous quotations.

Thanks to that book, I can now brag about it to my family and friends !
I recommand this book to everyone wanting to know more about America's past leaders or America's past political views.
